Dinosaur Game Google Easter Egg
The dinosaur game is one of my favorite Google easter eggs. If you’re using Chrome and you lose your internet connection, or if you try to use Chrome while offline, it will queue the Dino game!
Many people still don’t even realize this page is a game!
You can turn on airplane mode on your phone to play this, or visit https://dinosaur-game.io/
Google in 1998
Searching Google for “Google in 1998” delivers the reminder of what it used to look like back in the day.
That styling was top of the line…

The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything Google Easter Egg
Have you read (or seen) the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? Then you know it’s “42”.
In the story, civilization builds a supercomputer over many generations and when it’s finally smart enough they brave up and ask it for the answer to life, the universe and everything.
Google figured this out as well.
Once in a Blue Moon Easter Egg
Google has it figured out.
Since frequency is measured in cycles over time, its only right that Google has returned the rate of occurrence of a blue moon in hertz. (LOL right?)
When you search for once in a blue moon, the top result will be:
1.16699016 × 10-8 hertz
Or in normal terms, not very often.
This is technically a calculator result, so there might be a result to click the calculator.
Flip a Coin Google Easter Egg
On the fence about something that’s worth flipping a coin over? Google it!
Type in “flip a coin” or “roll a die” and let Google take care of it for you.
Google Tools and Games are entertaining once or twice. Also a great game in place of rock paper scissors.
Search for Askew on Google
Want to see a skewed search results page?
Do it. Just because.
Google “Blink” Easter Egg
When you search for “blink html”, any matches of “blink” and “html” in the search results body will blink.
There is also marquee html.
Super Mario Bros. Google Easter Egg
We all played this game as a kid, right? Searching for this Nintendo classic yields a small treat to the right of the results.
The right search will show a small ? box just like the one you hit with your head in Mario. Each click makes the coin sound.
Check it out here: https://www.google.com/search?q=super+mario+brothers
Super Mario Bros. Google Easter Egg not working? If you search the word “bros” it helps to add the period. “Super Mario Bros. Google Easter Egg”
Kerning (Typography) Google Easter Egg
Kerning is a typography term that means adjusting the space between characters to make your typography look proper.
When you Google search the word “kerning”, on the results that contain the word, “kerning” will be spaced differently.
Make Google Do a Barrel Roll
This is one of the first Google easter eggs I ever saw.
When you search for “do a barrel roll”, your screen will rotate 360 degrees clockwise. After the barrel roll, Google will be ready to use again.

The Batman Google Easter Egg only seems to be available on elgoog.

Google’s 3D Easter Egg
This is a little intense (calculus) but if you search for
1.2+(sqrt(1-(sqrt(x^2+y^2))^2) + 1 – x^2-y^2) * (sin (10000 * (x*3+y/5+7))+1/4) from -1.6 to 1.6
You’ll get the 3D easter egg.
Alternatively, you can click here: https://www.google.com/search?q=1.2%2B(sqrt(1-(sqrt(x%5E2%2By%5E2))%5E2)+%2B+1+%E2%80%93+x%5E2-y%5E2)+*+(sin+(10000+*+(x*3%2By%2F5%2B7))%2B1%2F4)
Google Gravity Easter Egg
If you went to google.com and typed the word “gravity” and then pressed the I am feeling lucky button, you could watch the screen fall apart like this. It still works on elgoog.

The Loneliest Number Google Easter Egg
You already know the answer to this (it’s the song by Harry Nilsson or Three Dog Night). If you search “the loneliest number”, you’ll probably get the song.
But if your search query is the question “what is the loneliest number”, you should get the answer—1.
Rick & Morty, “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub” Google Easter Egg
I know, this one’s reaching a little. But the “wubba lubba dub dub” easter egg is straight from the series!
What is Wubba Lubba Dub Dub?
In Rick & Morty, there’s an episode where the birdperson says wubba lubba dub dub means “I am in great pain, please help me”. (Season 1 Episode 5)
Applied to Google search, wubba lubba dub dub will say Did you mean: I am in great pain, please help me.
Also works using Google Assistant or on your phone! There are more like this around ????
Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet Google Easter Egg
The Marvel villain Thanos is at it again! While this Google Easter Egg is retired, it is still available elgoog.
When you search for Thanos, an Infinity Gauntlet that appears on the right does a fun trick. Click on it and Thanos does his thing and starts of the page start disappearing. If this doesn’t work for you on Google, try it on elgoog.
Server Status 418. “I’m a teapot.”
A little bit of web design humor, this has been around for a while but deserves an honorable mention.
Marquee HTML Easter Egg
A little bit of web design humor, this has been around for a while but deserves an honorable mention.
Bacon Number (Easter Egg)
Six degrees of Kevin Bacon, this fun game is now on Google! Use Google to search for a celebrity’s name + Bacon Number. Simply punch in bacon number + a celebrity’s name and Google will tell you how many degrees of separation they have from Kevin Bacon.
This works on mobile to settle that bet during Easter dinner with your Auntie Lyla.
Google Mars
Bored of Google Earth? Excited about the prospect of traveling to (and maybe even inhabiting) Mars?
Check out Google Mars! It’s kind of cool to think you’re staring at another planet.
There’s also Google Moon!
Google Moon
Google Mars (see above) was only the start. Soon, we might be able to view the open universe using technology like this.
