1.) Your LinkedIn Profile Photo
If you have an outdated, old, out of focus, pixelated, or hard to see photo on your Profile it can create a negative impression. Make sure that you are getting photos take of yourself, that truly and authentically represent who you are and your personality.
Think of your Profile Image as an extension of your Company. Is your company fun, bright and creative? Or Professional, sleek and strong? Find a way to relay your brands vibe in your photos.
2.) Your LinkedIn Cover Photo
This is something a lot of Profiles miss. They fill out the Profile photo on LinkedIn but leave the background photo blank, missing the opportunity to promote themselves and their company.
Make sure you create a branded Cover Photo and maybe even add in your contact information. (Phone Number, email, website) and another photo of you or your Company Logo. This will give your profile a sleek, branded look and help showcase you and your business.
3.) Use Keywords in Your LinkedIn Headline
Creating a more searchable profile is easy when you enter in Keywords that people would be searching for when looking for someone in your Industry with your skills.
Yes you can have your Job Title in your Headline, or you can utilize that space to profile a Keyword specific Headline that also mentions your Job.
4.) Send LinkedIn Connection Requests
Grow your network and potential referral pool with new connections. Every time you meet someone new, send them an invite on LinkedIn to stay connected on your professional social media.
Send our your connection request on LinkedIn with a personalized message reminding them about the circumstances of your meeting. This will increase the likelihood that the accept your request.
You can also see who has recently viewed you Profile on LinkedIn, this could be people searching for someone with your skillset, or a client looking for your Company or for you directly. These people have already looked at your profile, and are usually a good connection to have.
5.) Update Your Skills on LinkedIn
LinkedIn allows you to not only put your Skills on your Profile, they also allow others to endorse you for those Skills, telling the world, hey this person is great at these Skills, and can be considered a source of knowledge or expertise on these subjects.
When people add skills to their profile, LinkedIn’s algorithm uses keywords to search for people, and your skills section is tracked for keywords.
